Northland Public Library, a busy suburban library, is seeking an Adult Services Department Manager.
The primary function of the Adult Services Department Manager includes planning and implementing services and managing resources to serve adults in our communities. Frequent smiling is required.
In addition, s/he will direct and oversee day-to-day operations of the Adult Services Department, schedule, supervise, train and evaluate staff, and work with the Director of Library Services to ensure that the department meets strategic goals as well as customer service standards. The Adult Services Department Manager performs many of the same duties as subordinate staff and is familiar with all functions and staff responsibilities of the department. The Adult Services Department Manager serves as an active member of the management team.
The successful candidate must have an MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program. Preference will be given to those with at least 5 years’ professional experience in a public library setting and at least 2 years’ supervisory experience. PA and Federal Clearances required upon employment.
This is a 40hr/week exempt position including evening and weekend hours. Starting annual salary is $48,000. We offer a generous benefits package including healthcare, paid sick leave, paid vacation and holidays as well as a retirement plan.
