Avalon Public Library seeks candidates for a part-time (24-32 hours/week, including evening and weekend hours) Library Clerk position. High School Diploma or GED and excellent customer service skills are a must. Responsibilities include assisting patrons in borrowing materials, using fax/scanner/printer. Required computer skills include: Microsoft Word and Facebook. Should have willingness to learn Sierra Circulation and Word Press. Must be able to speak softly and hear in an atmosphere with ambient noise.
The successful candidate will be personable, energetic, patient, and organized, with an ability to collaborate with a diverse population including patrons, staff, volunteers, the Board of Directors, Friends of the Library, Borough Council/Staff and other community leaders.
Must be able to obtain PA act 33 and 34 clearances as well as FBI clearance at time of hire.
