Heritage is a small, rural, 501c3 nonprofit library in Washington County with a service area of 8,508 residents across four municipalities. It is a member of the WAGGIN One Card ILS Network (Washington, Greene, and Fayette Counties). The Director reports to the Library Board of Trustees.

 

The Director works with a wide range of people, including staff, board members, patrons, government officials, business and community leaders, volunteers, school district leaders, teachers, artists, children, and parents. The Director has a broad range of tasks, including supervising, problem solving, accounting and payroll, marketing, human resources, programming, community outreach, fundraising, building maintenance, grant writing, decision making, and others.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree with 9 credits in Library Science (Undergraduate or Graduate level); OR
  • Associate’s Degree with the willingness to earn 9 credits in Library Science to meet the state of Pennsylvania’s Director Certification requirement.

 

Experience working in a public library, supervising, community outreach, fundraising, and programming is preferred.

 

FBI, PA Criminal History, and Child Abuse clearances required.

 

Hours and Benefits: The position is 30-35 hours per week. Benefits include: 10 holidays, PTO after introductory period.

 

Baseline Salary: $21,000, education & experience taken into consideration
