Archives Library Technician (Peters Township Public Library)

The Peters Township Public Library is seeking to fill the part-time position of Archives Library Technician.

This position will:

  • Manage the development and maintenance of the library’s archival collections in print and digital formats.
  • Design displays, programs, and services for our community with a focus on local history and archives
  • Make local history collections accessible to individuals and organizations through the development and maintenance of catalogs and finding aids and the digitization of the collection on online platforms, including PA Photos and Documents
  • Perform professional reference work focusing on the archival collections, including one-on-one research appointments
  • Assist patrons in the use of Memory Lab digitization equipment

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Higher education in field of History, Library Science, Archival Studies, or related field preferred
  • Candidates with library, archives, or museum experience will be given preference
  • PA State Police criminal history check, PA Child Abuse clearances, FBI fingerprints

Compensation and Scheduling:

  • Starting pay range $15.50 to $19.50 per hour, commensurate with experience
  • 28 hours per week, flexible scheduling
