A library card is the key to discovering the many resources and programs available to all residents of Allegheny County. Library cards are free to all residents and the initial application process can take place online for patrons over 18 or in person at any public library within the county for patrons of all ages.
In order to apply for a library card in person, you will need to present photo identification, in addition to proof of address. Minors will need a parent/guardian to sign for them. Call or visit your library for their specific policy.
