Librarian – Children’s Services, Full-Time

Under the direction of the Library Services Supervisor-School Partnerships and through the Office of Programmatic Services, the Children’s Librarian works to provide service that supports the developmental needs of children 0-11 and their parents and caregivers. The Librarian interacts directly with both community organizations and individual readers and learners in and outside the Library, online, and in-person. In the absence of the Supervisor, they may oversee the day-to-day operation of the department or the Librarian may direct and guide the work of the support staff in the Office of Programmatic Services, as well as other staff or volunteers.

The Children’s Librarian helps to create a continuum of service across ages and CLP departments. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain open and fluid communication with internal and external stakeholders. They will have a passion for community engagement and be able to articulate the value of partnering with families to support the literacy and learning needs of their children.

Location: CLP- Office of Programmatic Services, Pittsburgh, PA. 

Work Hours:  37.5 hours per week;

Compensation:  $22.95 per hour
