Job Summary: Under the direction of the Archivist, the Librarian-Digital Collections will support policy development; processing, preserving, discovery and access to CLP’s digital initiatives through metadata creation, analysis, enrichment, and maintenance according to local and national cataloging and metadata standards and ensure that digitized and born-digital objects can be curated and maintained for short- and long-term access. The individual will be a liaison across departments and with external collaborators outside CLP to manage selected digital repositories and digital preservation platforms, ensure a high degree of innovation and functionality, and ensure that digital collections and objects are available for research use in a variety of formats. The position will participate in, or take on, projects to enhance intellectual access to, and discoverability of, digital and physical resources. The individual will contribute to discussions about copyright and intellectual property rights for cultural heritage materials. The position participates in library-wide services as needed.
The Digital Collections Librarian will oversee services in our Recollection Studio including supporting patrons in DIY digitization and related activities. Additional public service work may be assigned to support day-to-day library operations.
Location: CLP-Main, Pittsburgh, PA.
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week; days, evenings and weekends required.
Compensation: $22.95 per hour
