Library Circulation Associate (Monaca Library)

Job description

Oversees circulation duties and marketing on social media platforms, Part-time, 10-15 hours a week (2 days a week + 1 Saturday a month). Primary duties include:

  • Checking in/out of library materials
  • Registering patrons
  • Handling fines and fees
  • Assisting patrons with basic computer questions/tasks
  • Answering directional, procedural and programming questions
  • Fulfilling item requests for patrons
  • Retrieving items from book drop
  • Making phone calls as needed
  • Reshelving materials
  • Opening/closing duties
  • Using copy and fax machines
  • Provide updates re: issues arise during shift
  • Assist with some marketing duties (creating Facebook and Instagram posts)
  • Works on additional administrative projects, during slow times, as needed


  • High School graduate; preferred college graduate (majoring in, or majored, in Education, Library Science, Social Sciences etc.)
  • Experience with MS OFFICE products (excel, word, publisher, etc)
  • Experience with (or a quick learner!) posting photos to Facebook and Instagram
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must enjoy working with persons from all age groups.
  • Enjoys learning; takes suggestions and directions well, detail oriented.
