New Director (Delmont Public Library)

 

Delmont Public Library (DPL), 75 School Street, Delmont, PA, is looking for a new director.  The position is part-time, 30 hours per week.

 

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Oversight of library budget
  • Preparing reports and presentations
  • Collection development
  • Hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling library staff
  • Attracting and scheduling volunteers
  • Cooperating with the Library Board of Trustees, community officials, municipalities, and local groups in planning library services and programs
  • Supervising the maintenance of all library facilities and equipment
  • Engaging in public outreach to bring groups to the library as well as to bring the library to outside groups
  • Grant writing, publicity, and donor relations
  • Assisting in fund-raising efforts
  • Cooperating with the library board in the creation of a strategic plan and the development of an operational plan to support the strategic plan
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • 2 years of college (B.A. or B.S. preferred), 9 library science credits (must be obtained within 18 months of hiring)
  • Previous library experience
  • Ability to supervise staff and volunteers
  • Fund raising and grant writing experience
  • Familiarity with social media and digital technology
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality

 

Additional requirements:

  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and willingness and ability to conduct off-siteprograms
  • Current Pennsylvania and FBI clearances

 

Salary range: $15/hour
