Public Services Librarian FT (Brentwood Library)

The Brentwood Library, a busy public library in the Pittsburgh South Hills, is hiring a full-time Public Services Librarian. The librarian is part of a team that provides: all-ages events, programs, and activities; collection development, circulation services, reference, readers’ advisory, advocacy, supervision, and office duties. This position has a highly interactive patron-facing role. The librarian must be friendly, fun and outgoing – 100% comfortable with all-ages and patron groups: delighted to approach, greet, engage in small talk and conversations, to present information, and perform. Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) and related experience. Must be comfortable using today’s technology – Windows 11 environment, social media, MS Word / spreadsheets, email, troubleshooting minor computer problems and able to assist patrons with technology needs. An avid reader that enjoys book talking and promoting literature. Able to bend, reach, stand for periods of time, and lift light loads, (25+ pounds) PA Driver’s License, access to own transportation, pass Act 33/34 clearances.

$35,600.00 salaried, weekdays, with evening and weekend availability. Health, Dental, and Vision insurance; paid time off. Position open until filled.
