Job Title: Adult Program Coordinator (Part-Time)
Hours: 20 hrs/week
Summary:
The Adult Program Coordinator shall be responsible for creating and delivering Library programs for all adults, from emerging adults to seniors. To fill this role, creativity, a positive energy, and a passion for the people of Community Library of Allegheny Valley and its surrounding areas are essential. The Adult Program Coordinator will strive to foster a culture that embraces the Library’s mission of being an inclusive community gathering place that inspires lifelong learning, creativity, and personal discovery.
Duties:
- Coordinates, plans, and administers Library programs and events for all adults, both in-person and online, that advance the Library’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities
- Plans and delivers Library programs that cater to adults
- Liaises with local community partners to provide Library information and services.
- Plans and delivers outreach events within the community
- Marketing and promotion of library programs and services
- Other duties, as directed
The Adult Program Coordinator will also be expected to perform the following general duties that are shared by all Library employees to ensure a seamless experience for our patrons:
- Communicates and applies Library policies and procedures; addresses and resolves any patron issues
- Cover shifts at the circulation desk as needed.
- Assists the public in the use of the Library and its services
- Manages circulation of library materials using our I.L.S
- Shelves Library materials and items
- Assists in keeping the Library in neat order
- Registers new patrons and updates records for existing patrons
- Spreads awareness of Library programs and services, and is an ambassador for the Library in our community
- Any other duties as required for the good of the Library
- Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Advanced computer literacy with ability to troubleshoot in a variety of operating system environments across multiple platforms
- Knowledge of and experience with using mobile devices, and other emerging technologies for libraries
- Ability to deal with the public, staff, and volunteers in a tactful and courteous manner
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to teamwork, as well as the ability to take direction when required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Qualities such as creativity, open-mindedness, and a positive energy are an asset
Compensation
This is an hourly position starting at $15/hr. PTO time is included.
