Pittsburgh, PA – Monday, November 24, 2025 – The Allegheny County Library Association (ACLA) and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP) announced the results of their annual Love Your Library campaign. The 46 library systems in Allegheny County raised a record-breaking $2,393,197.41 in charitable contributions during the month of September, a 40.2% increase from the previous year. Of this amount, $1,039,478.43 qualifies for a prorated match from a $202,500 donor pool contributed by the Jack Buncher Foundation and NiSource Charitable Foundation of Columbia Gas.
Now in its tenth year, Love Your Library continues to spotlight the transformative role libraries play in strengthening communities. Each September, residents across Allegheny County come together to celebrate and support the places that foster literacy, spark exploration and connect neighbors.
More than 9,500 donors contributed to this year’s campaign, including 1,482 first-time supporters. Their gifts help sustain the free and essential services libraries provide including books, databases and materials, digital resources, job seeker support, community programs and facility improvements.
“This year’s Love Your Library results reflect the deep trust and enthusiasm our communities have for their libraries,” said Amy Anderson, CEO of the Allegheny County Library Association. “Libraries are accessible to everyone, regardless of age, income or background, and this campaign helps ensure that these essential services continue to thrive. We’re grateful for every donor who joined us in meeting community needs, enhancing programs and supporting the spaces our neighbors rely on.”
Libraries reported that the Love Your Library initiative continues to amplify the vital role they play in their communities. Many systems expanded their fundraising efforts, successfully engaging individuals, corporations and foundations to address emerging needs and strengthen services countywide.
“Each gift to libraries is an investment in our neighbors and in the future of Pittsburgh,” said Andrew Medlar, President and Director of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. “These contributions allow us to expand access to learning, spark curiosity and strengthen the connections that make our community so vibrant. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors and for the support of the Jack Buncher Foundation and the NiSource Charitable Foundation, whose partnership amplifies the impact of this work across Allegheny County.”
