Position Summary:

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Hours: 30 hours per week

Schedule: Monday and Tuesday 11-7, and Friday 10-5, rotating between Thursday 10-5 and Saturday 9-4 Compensation: $15-16.50 an hour depending on experience

 

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement programs for all ages.
  • Continue to plan and coordinate established reoccurring programs such as story times and summer reading.
  • Provide library circulation services including checking materials in and out, processing memberships, ILL services, and providing reference and readers’ advisory.
  • Customer service at the circulation desk and answering the phone. Provide basic technical support to patrons.
  • Use Canva to create monthly calendars of programs for distribution.
  • Use programs such as Canva and Library Aware to create flyers for programs and materials for library displays.
  • Advertise library programs on social media and in the community.
  • Keep record of program attendance and passive program engagement.
  • Collaborate with Director and Administrative Assistant on program budget, grant writing, and other projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience working with and providing services and resources for children, tweens, and teens.
  • Technology experience required proficient computer and smart device skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Experience in customer service or working with the public.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, lift and carry up to 35lbs.
  • Valid clearances including Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Record, and Federal Criminal History Record.
