Hrivnak Receives Certificate of Merit

The Allegheny County Library Association is pleased to announce that Assistant Director Kimberley Hrivnak is the 2019 recipient of the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) Certificate of Merit.

Fine Free Libraries Remove One More Barrier to Service

  Allegheny County Library Association continues to expand its fine-free program. Launched as a pilot in 2019, the program has already resulted in increased circulation and patron registrations beyond expectations.

Another Successful Love Your Library Month

The Love Your Library initiative is a month-long fundraising and awareness campaign for the libraries of Allegheny County, jointly coordinated by the Allegheny County Library Association and the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.

ACLA Shared Accounting Services Receives Grant from Dollar Bank Foundation

[columns] [span6] In January 2020, the Dollar Bank Foundation generously awarded $20,000 to the ACLA Shared Accounting Services program. This support has allowed us to expand our existing service to incorporate an additional three libraries this year, with a total of 17 libraries now participating.

National Library Week 2019, Libraries = Strong Communities

The Allegheny County Library Association (ACLA) joined libraries throughout Pennsylvania and the country in celebrating National Library Week – April 7 – 13, 2019. The week allowed residents to discover the changing role of libraries within our communities and to dispel the notion that libraries are simply book repositories, or places of quiet study.

Allegheny County Children Choose Their Favorites

Libraries in Allegheny County introduce thousands of children to new and quality literature each year through the Picture Book Children’s Choice Awards and the Children’s Choice Awards provided by the Allegheny County Library Association.
